Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), founded in 1955, is a university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MoE) and co-built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Beijing Key Lab. of Mobile Media and Cultural Computing is oriented to the cultural and creative industry aiming at exploring the presentation of the digitalization, visualization and mobilization for the future network culture as well as the common key technologies of mobile network culture, which focuses on solving the key issues of applicable standards of mobile network culture, network culture content representation and quantitative theory and method, network culture content integration and push as well as display and interaction, developing comprehensive basic resource platform and application platform, extending cultural values through the Internet and mobile Internet, providing a variety of technical support for the accelerated development of cultural and creative industries, and radiating the influence all around the country.

Research direction of Beijing Key Lab. of Mobile Media and Cultural Computing

The laboratory becomes the demonstration base of research and development of cultural creativity in Beijing by exploring the key issues of cultural quantification and understanding, cultural innovation, and dissemination in line with the dual principles of basic research and applied research and creating a new paradigm of cultural mining and innovative application. A new cultural ecology which is radiated and popularized is to be developed by extending the cultural value, providing a variety of technical support and system solutions for the accelerated development of cultural and creative industries through the mobile Internet and cultural computing platform.
