East Meets West Greece (EMWG) was delighted to participate in the Digital Heritage Forum 2025, held in Abu Dhabi from 3 to 5 November 2025, with EMWG represented by Mr. Kostas Konstantinidis. The Forum marked an exciting first edition, bringing together cultural, academic, and technology leaders from across the world to explore the future of digital heritage.
Hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the event highlighted how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and extended reality are reshaping the way cultural heritage is preserved, shared, and experienced. EMWG joined discussions within Track 5, dedicated to storytelling, creative futures, and digital cultural expression, contributing to conversations around how technology can amplify cultural narratives and foster cross-cultural dialogue.
Mr Konstantinidis spoke on the very important subject of “Heritage by Design: Collaborative Platforms for Co-Creation in Digital Heritage”, with a focus on Europeana and Wikipedia.
With inspiring talks, engaging panels, and immersive showcases, the Forum offered a vibrant space for exchange and collaboration at a time when heritage faces growing global challenges. EMWG’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to connecting cultures and supporting innovative, forward-looking approaches to heritage in the digital age.
Many thanks to Ona Vileikis Tamayo for the invitation!
